Color Guard is a sport commonly associated with marching bands. As this is true, there are also other events that incorporate color guard such as winter guard and individual competitions. Much like baton twirling, color guard is a creative and aerobic sport that combines dance and gymnastics with the ability to manipulate flags, rifles, sabers and various other props. Color guard is set apart from other sports due to the level of artistic skill needed in creation and articulation of performances. This sport will help improve creativity, positive self-esteem, confidence and motor skills along with the development of spatial awareness and stamina.
